Perry Hall Baptist Church Toddlers
“Behold, children are a heritage
from the Lord, the fruit of the womb,
a reward.” Psalm 127:3, ESV
We welcome children 18 months to three years in our toddler room. Our Toddlers will learn about God’s perfect love by exploring simple Biblical truths. We provide clean, safe, secure, and nurturing care. Each of our volunteers has attended the church for a minimum of six months, and passed a background check. Additionally, each of our coordinators and many of our volunteers have received infant CPR training including choking. We adhere to the recommended child/adult ratio of five toddlers to one adult.
Upon your first visit, please complete a “Child Card” so our volunteers have the needed information on your child including any allergies, medical conditions, or special accommodations that need to be met. Please label all items that you bring for your child such as a diaper bag and sippy cups. We do provide a small snack to toddlers (goldfish, animal crackers…). If you would like your child to have a drink with their snack – you must provide a labeled sippy cup.
Upon each visit, please sign in your child and note your cell phone number on the sign in sheet. This will allow us to call you if there is a need for you to return to the room during the services. (Please be sure to keep your phone on vibrate while in the sanctuary).
It is our policy that each child shall be permitted to leave only with the person who drops him/her off. If your needs require that someone else pick up your child, please notify the staff when dropping off. Please let that person know we will ask for ID to ensure the safety of your child. Also, in an effort to minimize traffic in the toddler room, please have one adult only (no older siblings) drop off and pick up your child when at all possible.
To ensure a healthy room, please adhere to our sickness policy as outlined below:
If your child has had any of the following symptoms within the past 48 hours, please keep him/her home: fever, colored nasal discharge, conjunctivitis (“pink eye”), eye or ear discharge, vomiting or diarrhea, skin infections, chronic cough or sore throat, cold sores around mouth, impetigo, active chicken pox or recent chicken pox vaccine (within 3 days), and any acute infectious disease.
If your child is being treated with antibiotics, they should be on the medication at least 24 hours prior to coming to the nursery. Please also note our workers cannot administer any type of medication. If your child has a clear runny nose or other symptoms due to allergies, please let us know. We realize some symptoms hang on when a child is not contagious. Thank you for doing your part in ensuring a healthy and comfortable environment.
Finally, please note our potty training policy:
Our volunteers will ensure a child is taken to the bathroom when he/she indicates he/she needs to go. However, if during the potty training process, your child needs frequent trips to the bathroom, you may choose to stay with your child, or return to class as needed to ensure this is accomplished. We suggest newly potty trained children wear pull-ups to avoid accidents.
