“Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.”  1 Thessalonians 2:8

Why Are We Called Sequoia Sisters?

Sequoia trees are the largest (250’) living things on earth because they grow in groves and their shallow roots intertwine. They surround each other, support each and keep each other strong because their roots are interdependent.  In the same way, we need each other to love, stand firm and thrive.

Proverbs 8:17 says “I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me.

Discussions may focus on:

  • Can I really know God?
  • Is God relevant in my life?
  • What does the Bible say about….?
  • How do I handle difficult situations/people?
  • Is what I believe really true?

“Here we are. You and I, and I hope a third is also present, Christ Himself. Since no one else is here to disturb us, open your heart and let me hear what you have to say.”    Aelrod of Rievaulx

Purpose: To provide opportunity for women to meet with a mentor and focus on personal and spiritual transformation based on biblical principles.

Mission: To assist women to intentionally deepen their relationship with Jesus as they become strong in character, focused in purpose, wise in making life choices, and influential with family, church, and community.

Using Scripture, life experiences, and resource materials, this ministry tailors the mentoring process to an individual instead of using a set program or curriculum study. Mentoring is by women for women with a goal of training the next generation.
